Guest guest
well, as 'crazy' as it sounds, your bones have to heal and that's how long it takes. if you decide to chew something, realize that your jaws are very strong: they can chew down with several HUNDRED pounds of pressure. if you are biting something small, all of that pressure is pushing down on one small spot on your jaw. on my jaw, there are 3 titanium screws on each side that are basically holding the whole thing together until the bones heal. if i decided to chew something and put those hundreds of pounds of pressure onto those screws and they failed, my surgeon made it very clear what would happen. there would be a big CRACK, the sounds of the bones shattering apart. he would then have to go back in and put it all back together, assuming the bones were not splintered which would cause more trouble. after that, i would be wired shut for 2 months. i i knew for sure that the 7 week rule was just fine by me. if you want to take a gamble on the thousands and thousands of dollars you paid for your surgery, or take a gamble on going through all the pain and inconvenience again, go right ahead and chew. i'm waiting. > See i have this big rubberband right in the middle of > my mouth in the front so I would have to cut that out > of my mouth to even get anything through, like a taco > lol and everyone i talk to says the 7 week liquid > thing is crazy too!!
