I agree that you may need something stronger. I am an old hand with acid

reflux and began with Zantac in my thirties. What I have found

interesting...suspicious, really...is that as soon as these drug companies LOSE

THEIR PATENTS and

go over the counter...their drugs don't WORK for me anymore. Or for many

others I know. Hmm. I took Prilosec for YEARS. It was perfect. Then it went over

the counter and guess what! Within 3 weeks or so I was getting heartburn and

acid reflux again. I switched to NEXIUM which costs a fortune and my insurance

company does not cover it.

So yes, by all means, Debbie, get a prescription and make sure you have that

GERD under control. It's very important.
