I have had spinal issues and autoimmune issues for years (thyroid, diabetes). I have probably had this for a long time, but as everyone knows, it is hard to diagnose and some doctors have ignored it. I am so glad it if finally getting the recognition it deserves. I just had a lumbar spinal fusion w/hardware. Two surgeries: first was to remove the diseased discs and the surgeon disrupted a nerve causing my leg pain to be worse. Hopefully this will get better; second was to implant the hardware. I got an infection in the incision (I am also diabetic) which took over 3 wks to clear up. I just saw the surgeon for follow-up and my fusion may be broken or something. It is clicking and the surgeon actually heard it. Having a ct scan on Dec. 13th. Thanks for letting me join. I look forward to learning so much and sharing with everyone.
