I'm someone who deals with chronic headaches and migraines -- have had this issue all my life. I have been diagnosed with several conditions that can cause headaches and migraines, so I know why I get them and work at trying to avoid the triggers.

I do have some good news, though. Since being on SCD I have switched to eating small meals more often, and switched to drinking only water and reduced my tea drinking to one cup of very weak tea per day (no more soda). Plus I no longer eat anything with preservatives and additives. This has eliminated mot of the milder headaches that come and go throughout the day. I am easily dehydrated, and have low blood sugar issues (along with other stuff) so drinking all the time, and eating something every 2 hours, has helped tremendously.

I generally just get a mild headache a few times a day, and drinking more water or eating something stops the headache. It's rare that I need to take aspirin for a headache.

I also needed a hysterectomy and double oopherectomy 4 years ago, and that eliminated my hormonally-induced chronic migraines. A nice bonus to the surgery; I hadn't realized so many of my migraines were due to hormonal fluctuations. Now I just get an occasional migraine from stress and fatigue, so I've been able to keep the occurrences down to once every 2 to 3 months instead of 2 or 3 times each month. None of the migraine medications work for me, so I just "take to my bed" and get through the episode.

So, SCD has helped me quite a bit in connection with chronic mild headaches.

Our daughter (31) has had a lifetime of headaches. She also hasGrave's disease, and has had her thyroid removed. Thyroid OK withmedicine, but she still has headaches. I believe all of theseconditions are auto-immune related--maybe not the headaches. Doesanyone have any experience whereby the SCD or some other diet hashelped people with chronic headaches?BC
