Guest guest Posted January 25, 2009 Report Share Posted January 25, 2009 I store my bananas, once they are ripe, in the vegetable drawer in the bottom of the fridge. They go black on the outside but remain yellow on the inside for quite sometime. Obviously if you leave them too long they get overripe. I use them when they are over-ripe (but not completely mushy) with no harmful effects.
