Guest guest
Friday night we stopped at yocco's hot dogs in town for supper (best hot dogs in the world!). got to the hotel about 8:30, walked to see the rockefeller center tree and skating rink. ate late 2nd supper at mcdonalds, saw the saks windows, went home to sleep. Saturday a.m. went to au bon pain, then saks for my lipstick, st patricks cathedral quickly to show the kids, then pokemon center for a while. walked to times square to toys r us. saw what i think was a santa stumble. hundreds of ppl dressed as santa in different costumes or plain old santa in times square....they did some cheers and stuff ("hohoho" over and over, "santa needs a beer", etc.)...it was cool ....some of the costumes were amazing. walked to jekyll and hyde restaurant--long walk--for late lunch, but apparently everyone had the same idea, so we skipped the 2 hour wait and ate at a brasserie called rue 57. i had steak frites and a glass of shiraz. nice place. we had a slight mixup with waiting for our table and a slight wait for our food which we didn't even notice til the waiter pointed it out, so we got three desserts to share for free. walked back to hotel for a quick nap, stopping at a few shops a long the way. ethan was rocking out with the keyboard and the mike at the sharper image store. dancing and singing. it was sooooo cute and the whole store saw /heard him. took a nap, felt kind of oogy when i woke up so we decided to stay in for the nite, but then i took another nap and woke up feeling okay enough to go out again (which was a good thing since we didn't do anything sunday a.m. ) walked to Dylan's candy bar. spent $50 on candy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! saw the cool bloomingdales xmas windows. we walked there via park avenue so we saw all of the cool fancy apt bldgs and xmas lights, and the lever house, one of my fave NY bldgs. walked back. went in our fancy hotel bar and kids had their first cocktails--roy rogers--while nate and i had our night caps. went to bed. woke up --it was snowing so we changed our plans, packed, got our car from the valet, drove to jersey city for breakfast with my friend vicki at marco and pepe's (a great cuban-like cafe with amazing food--we ate there twice when we visited Vicki and ethan last winter), drove home. saw 17 suvs and 4 cars disabled and/or wrecked on the way home. the 1st hour of the drive took two and a half. made it home safe. pics will follow when developed--maybe by next xmas!! LOL!!! kayly
Guest guest
Sounds wonderful! I bet you're paying for it now, though. Glad you didn't have any trouble with the drive. I think the people who wreck are mostly those who figure their 4WD protects them against ice, LOL. Well, and alot of the trucks have difficulty with ice. I'm glad the boys had a good time.
