Guest guest
I'm not Jodi, but do have low blood sugar episodes (hypoglycemia) as well as chronic muscle cramps in my feet, legs, arms, hands. I deal with hypoglycemia on SCD by eating small meals frequently. I eat 6 to 7 small meals a day, so my body always has fuel. What I eat each meal/snack also makes a difference. I generally have protein plus a medium-carb veggie or two (my digestion doesn't tolerate high carb, high fat or high fiber) I only have one serving of cooked fruit per day, and if my candida levels are OK one serving of a diluted fruit juice, and always have it with a meal that includes protein and some fat. Muscle cramps are chronic for me. I can keep the cramps minimal by taking regular doses of magnesium, occasional doses of potassium, and boosting my electrolytes regularly or as needed. I have been diagnosed with a number of neurological conditions that cause muscle cramps so I know the cause. Malabsorption is part of the problem as well. I'm also intolerant of most medications and supplements, so I can't take Baclofen which helps with severe muscle cramps and I have to mix my magnesium and potassium in water to get my body to accept it. Still, I've gotten my chronic muscle cramps under decent management. Kim M. SCD 5 years >>>>>>>>>> what do you know about blood sugar dips? I have low blood sugar. How about cramps in the feet, hands, and legs? Thanks so much.

Guest guest
Thankyou! Mine have gotten better, but still occassionally have trouble. Last night my food cramped up again. I wonder if it's a response to a food? My blood sugar seems to be somewhat normal right now. The diet really helped that. Or maybe the cramp is the first symptom of blood sugar problems. I don't get the big adrenaline rush I used to and the weak near fainting spells, exhaustion etc. as often.
