Good Morning Lil - Sorry you are still feeling punky. Coffee is bad for

your stomach, and the caffeine is very bad for the AFIB. I gave up my

caffeine right after my first episode in May and I still miss it. But, I

figure better for me in the long run.

I seem to be doing okay on the Flecanide - I'm a little tired and my heart

is doing a few strange things, but all in all pretty darn good. I'm taking

a very small dose and it's working so far.

Have you seen a gastro M.D.? My doc told me that my stomach might be

causing my AFIB so he refered me to a gastro doc - I'll see him the end of

August. I know JUST what you mean - the stomach is crazy some days!

Good luck - hope you are feeling better by the end of today!!! Take care.

Thank you - you didn't sign so I am going to say " DM " - you are RIGHT about

the coffee. I have a hard time giving it up but I notice I do have fewer bing

bang beats when I skip the caffeine...how long did it take for you to stop

feeling as if you were going to fall asleep in your breakfast cereal?

I'm sorry Lil, it's Debbie in Texas (go figure - I'd forget my head if it

wasn't...well you know the rest). I have to admit, I still drag every

afternoon. I really do miss my coffee!!!

Thank you Colleen - how ironic I lived in Sacramento for so many years (in

NSR...!) How ironic I never appreciated NSR! (who knew?!) I appreciate your

thoughts and know you are there. It helps. I got news today that a dear aunt

passed away this morning - she was elderly and had broken her hip - it was

her time but her passing made me very sad because it brought back memories of

my dad's whole family. She was the last of that generation and I remember so

many good summers as a child when all the parents gathered in upstate NY and

laughed and shared stories and the kids sold lemonade and ran around the yard.

It's a million years ago and miles away.

I promise more cheerful news in the future.

No need to apologize for not being cheerful. Loss is loss. And I don¹t think

it¹s ever easy to say goodbye to links to your childhood. Gives you this

painful un-tethered feeling. And no matter how much we know that it was

better for the loved one to go, there¹s always a part of us that doesn¹t

want to let go. When my Dad died of cancer a couple of years ago, just days

before Christmas, it was such a shock to me. Even though we all knew that he

wasn¹t going to make it, that the cancer had been caught way too late, I

still thought that he wouldn¹t be taken from us so quickly. I was happy that

he wasn¹t in pain anymore, but the sadness of never seeing him again was

unbearable. Two years later, and I¹m sitting here typing this with tears

streaming down my face... Can you tell I still haven¹t come to terms with

the loss...? You know, Lil, I started to write this to cheer you up, and I

seem to have botched the job. Getting older isn¹t for sissies, right? =0/

Oh, Kathy, so sorry for your loss as well. Perhaps she left some good light

for you on her way.

I find my aunt is on my mind a lot today. I like to think she is in a

position to put in a good word for me on Monday. :)

I sure hope things calmed down for you - both stresswise and heart
