Guest guest
Hi , Mine is a case of a " midline that is off " . Feel free to take a look at my pix on Site2 under " Irish " . I had a pretty nasty open bite that my July surgery took care of quite nicely (had two slices of yummy pizza tonight that I could actually bite into and pull with my front teeth, something I never could do before surgery), but apparently things were more complicated in this mouth of mine than anticipated from xrays, etc., that my surgeon just couldn't do a complete surgery the first time around. My situation is rare, so don't worry too much. He was able to close my open bite, fix my TMJ, but when I woke up from surgery, my teeth were shifted too far to the left. It was the hope of the surgeon that the orthodontist could move the teeth back into a centered position, but there is simply no room left in this mouth, so I have another surgery on January 31st to fix the midline. Am told it's a " simple " slide of both jaws over to the right a few millimeters. Not nearly as severe as the first surgery, but enough for me to freak out about it again. Joking, of course. I hate my crookedness, but wanted to post pics if it'll help someone. Very much looking forward to posting some " fixed midline " pix in the near future. Hope this helps!
