Hi Marilyn,

I think I am drinking too much juice, i buy it 100% natural, but i

haven't watered it down at all. Probably 4 - 6 liters a week. And

plenty of apples. You know how you just know that something isn't

right inside your gut. I'm sure i'm overdosing on fruit, so i've

already cut it back, but i never thought to dilute it. Thanks. As for

other foods that i'm eating, it's all just salad w/o dressing and

vegies ... mostly chicken, but some red meat as well. I'm pretty

strict with the diet i think. If only almond meal wasn't so expensive

!!!!!

Yes, it's very easy to over-do on fruit. Your mileage may vary, but for

me, fruit was the last thing I was able to add in any kind of

quantity.

If I drank 4-6 liters of undiluted juice a week, I'd be falling over! Or,

more likely, living in the loo!

BTW, you can make legal SCD salad dressings. However, most of us find

that raw veggies at the outset of the diet is also a bit rough on our

guts, and that it is much better to go with cooked, peeled vegetables. I

ate peeled steamed zucchini (courgettes) for about two months before I

was able to add steamed French-style green beans.

Almond meal goodies are great -- but doesn't Australia have a pretty good

pecan crop? Finely ground pecans can be used in most recipes -- and

there's a good souffle bread recipe which is just eggs and 4 tablespoons

of pecan meal.

If you haven't found it already, you might find

http://www.geocities.com/scdoz/

helpful -- it's a website for SCDers in your part of the globe. (And a

place I want to visit one of these days... I have a pen pal living in

Perth.)

Thanks again Marilyn,

I will definitely water down my juice, I can feel it being too acidic

for me when i'm drinking it. Can't believe I didn't think of watering

it down? I'm only a young kid give me some slack ;O) .... well i'm 32

..... (young at heart then).

Thanks for suggesting the aussie site, i'll take a look at it this

week, and hopefully some locally relevant information is available.

When you come to Australia, you'll have to look me up, at least i'll

be SCD prepared for you. Ha.

Thanks Marilyn.

Re: " can't believe you didn't think of watering the juice

down, " well, that comes under the heading of " Space... the

final frontier... it's in between my ears! "

OK, my brain just tilted... I'm used to thinking of myself as young. And

it just dawned on me that at 56, I'm old enough to be your Mom!

We won't make Australia for a few years -- my husband only has three

weeks of vacation, so it may have to wait until he retires. After all,

that's a whole continent to look over. And a darned long flight to get

there. (I have to figure out precisely how much food to bring with me so

it's finished before I arrive so I don't get arrested for smuggling!

Ya'll have some pretty stringent laws! Oh, and I have another pen pal in

SA.

Hope the Aussie site is helpful... ingredients which are available vary

from state to state in the US and province to province in Canada, let

alone what may be available continent to continent.

Give some thought to doing cooked, peeled veggies, as well.
