Guest guest
I am one of those strange persons that do not like splenda much but I try to use it because they say its better for one then aspartame but who knows for sure? I went grocery shopping last night and my generic sugar free / fat free ice cream now changed from aspartame to a combo of splenda and maltitol (sp?). That is what is concerning me or making it hard for me personally. Some companies are getting rid of aspartame but then doing the maltitol / splendor combo and for me that is a huge NONO. I can not have any sugar alcohols. sus -----Original Message----- From: Deb Knee * Hi Sue, I personally can t wait to drink a Diet Coke sweetened w/ Splenda. I don t like the twang associated with asparatame. Regardless of it being the same carbs. The present taste keeps me from buying it. Also typically most " diet sodas " with the exception of Diet Rite has more sodium than its regular counterpart. Deb sueluvcin wrote: .. Guest guest
Sus, I think I'll stick to my tea with lots of lemon and Sweet 'N Low. I'm still not sure whether so much Splenda is good for me, and maltitol seems to cause digestive problems. I don't know if anyone else feels this way. We do have to do what feels right for us, and I'm very fond of tea of several kinds, plus it's very easy to get in restaurants. I do leave extra tip money for the lots of lemon part. Guest guest
Since around November 10 I noticed my blood sugars are stubbornly higher most days. Finally I figured that I had bought a new tea Celestial " Lemon Zinger " which I liked and have been having it every day. It lists 0 cals, 0 carbs, 0 everything. But it's very spicy, and I'm wondering if that could be the cause... I wish it would be -- it's easily remedied. It could also be stress, I guess, because it started about the time I had to go out and start hustling up a job -- no easy task at 58. A temp agency has shown interest in me this week (which calmed my anxieties) and BS is down a little. I have learned from this site to relax and not panic by running my diet by the clock. So I will continue. The important thing is what the A1C test will say. Luv, & hope you are doing well now, Janie > I am one of those strange persons that do not like splenda much... I understand that some don't like it or have bad effects from it. I'd never assume that my experiences would necessarily be the same for everyone. I know it's probably not good for me but I will trade off my need for something sweet on occasion with the fact that it might be bad. sky
