stringy fiber, I imagine.

you could peel it - *when* there's a next time.

I know Marilyn's mentioned on several occasions that

some people have an issue with the stringiness.

I prefer fennel to celery, myself - prefer the flavor.

And, it's not as stringy.

Mara,

Ok. Is this the same with grapes too?

I did not know I could " peel " celery?? I am such a novice in the

kitchen.. seriously.

I used fennel and that seems to be ok!

Am even able to eat the fennel tops and dill!!

On a side note- last time I did a no no with food I used the LDN at

night and the discomfort from the food was gone by morning. Had to

suffer during day- but it was pretty cool. I hope it works with the

celery as well.

It's really high fiber, and some people don't do well with high

fiber.

It's possible to use a veggie peeler on it and get the worst of the

strings off. <g> I, on the other hand, took to celery just fine...

doesn't it figure?

Marilyn,

OMG.. I have not gotten that sick from food in a while.

I puked 8 times last night.

What a nasty veggie for me.

Never eating celery.

Never say never! You may just need more healing before you can tolerate

it! (Think of all the foods you used to be unable to tolerate!)

Still, it does demonstrate that Elaine Was Right Again when it comes to

foods with too much fiber.

Jodi -- Sorry to hear you've been having such a hard time lately. I'm

just wondering if the vomiting was coincidental and not because of the

celery. Maybe you have a stomach virus? A few years ago my husband

ate some chicken and chicken soup and then started throwing up. It

turns out he had a virus that caused vertigo, dizziness, nausea and

hearing loss, but because of the association he still won't eat

chicken even 3 years later!

Debbie,

Thanks for making me think about this?

Maybe you are right? As my husband has been sick with an awful viral

thing- his belly hurt but it wasn't like significant comparing to his

throat. He also had a very high fever- Mine went between 101-102 not

nearly as bad as his.

Maybe I had a bug?

Seems awfully violent for a food reaction. I mean puking 8 times in

one night? I didn't even have that in the begining of the diet. Each

time I puked it was about 6-7 times of retching puking of green bile.

I collapsed a couple of times. Maybe the Celery just set it off. I

wish I knew.

But yea, the idea of consuming celery just makes me want to go into

fetal mode and suck my thumb.

Suddenly you'll see my nightmares screened on some jumbo tron of a

huge celery man chasing me..
