Can die off make eczema worse?

Week 6 on SCD, my 3yo has had eczema for the last 3 weeks. It is so

bad, it's all over his body. He scratches non-stop and several spots

are open/bloody. He is only eating a handfull of foods and we haven't

changed anything else (soaps, cleaners etc.). His bm's have improved

dramatically but skin is terrible. Could this be die-off? How long does

it last? How can I tell the difference? It is not responding to any

eczema treatments. He is so miserable. Thoughts??
