Guest guest
For 4 wonderful days I've been bee-bopping around with my cane, eating out, going to movies, hostessing out of town guests. That all changed at 2 PM yesterday. I left my third session of acupuncture as the door closed behind me my leg spasmed and started me down. I was caught by an entering patient. Then my leg went into full tremors, shaking like it was having its own seizure. They got me a seat. I was stuck for 30 min, I could get the leg to calm and I could walk on the level but there was an incline to the sidewall where my car was 3 car lengths away. I finally made it to the bottom and sidewalk but the tremor started and left me clinging to a fence post. They finally brought the car to me and got me in. I drove home. I rested for an hour but had an evening rental showing and no way to cancel. So my son went with me to climb the stairs. I still cannot believe what happened next. I was in a left turn lane but the arrow had just turned yellow so I stopped. A car was coming towards me through the intersection when the guy behind me lays on his horn. As if I should have floored it and cut in front of the car. I turned after the car and was promptly pulled over by the ton City Police (he was the guy on the horn). He was raving and ranting that I was obstructing the flow of traffic. I calmly reasoned with him. Finally he calmed down, said you need to watch how you react to aggressvie drivers...there are crazy people out here. He got in his car and left. The neighbors to the rental have logged complaints about the lack of police response and used my name so I may have been targeted. We went on to Lowe's for a return. My leg is weak now and I'm clinging to a buggy. The clerk sent be completely to the far corner of the store instead of doing the return herself. She says to my son as I walk away, " She's doing just fine " He said he thought she was attempting to be nice. I saw she was pointing out that I was not normal. I could sure use consistency....and kinder people. This changing on a dime stuff is for the birds. Today I'm clinging as I walk, even my left hand is drawing No I'm not going back for more acupuncture. Guess I just needed to vent. Eva, I'm not shy about telling store clerks (nicely) that I need help and that I'm not able to walk that far. Next time explain that you aren't able to make it that far, it's a day to day thing and you are worn out today. If you have a smile on your face when you say it, they should respond in a helpful way. If not, ask for management immediately! They need to train staff to respond in a helpful way. Not a patronizing way, but a friendly, helpful way. Guest guest
Sounds like you had a really rough go at things. Thankfully you didnt fall, and there were some courtious people around. As for Lowes, I would have stated I am having a bad day and ask nicely for them to go get the product for you. They have employees all over, and they get paid for the customer servive. In my book if I dont get the customer service I feel I deserve I ask for the manager, if I dont get a nice response or feel like they think I am being stupid I wont go back to that store again, and I will let other people no how I was treated. I know people always say that the customer is right, well I dont totally agree with that, but I do deserve the customer service. Rest today as much as possible, It kind of sounds like you over did it. Take care and be good to yourself. Guest guest
Hi Eva: Sorry you had to go through such an ordeal. Way-to-go giving it to the policeman. He couldn't have been more insensitive if he tried!!!!!!!! Hope tomorrow will be better for you. Take care. Jo. Guest guest
Eva, I also went to Lowe's the other day to get two more buckets of driveway sealer and I went to the front desk and told them what I needed because there was another desk for contractors at the back of the store and I wasn't walking back there. The cashier called back, rang me up and I just had to go back to my car and drive to the pick- up part of Lowe's. There is absolutely no reason that clerk should have done that to you and you need to be a little more assertive and tell them that you want it done there and like someone else said, if they don't want to do it, ask for the manager. I worked too many years in retail and it was my job to make it easy for the customer. grrrrrrrrrrrrr....that makes me mad!! If she would have said " she's doing just fine " about me I would have said and you aren't going to be fine unless you take this return for me! LOL Sorry you had so much hassle!
