My daughter has had this sore on her neck for a couple of weeks. I'm

just not sure what it is and it doesn't seem to go away. I haven't put

anything on it as I'm afraid of an adverse reaction. It's not really a

rash with little bumps but rather one sore with a flaky covering,

almost like a scab but it doesn't fall off. It looks like one she had

one her bottom, probably close to an 1 " length. Is this typical for

Crohn's? Anyone know what it is and how to get rid of it? She's not on

any meds.

Kathy,

Does it itch? Have you changed laundry soap, fabric softener, shampoo,

body wash, etc. lately? Maybe it is an allergic reaction.

I'm allergic to fabric softener. My doctor told me that dryer sheets

keep dermatologists in business.

Now I use free & clear laundry soap and I set my washer to do a second

rinse to make sure all of the soap gets out of my laundry.

If it doesn't clear up soon, I'd take her to the doctor. There are a

ton of things it could be.

Take care,

Kim, I think it only itches when she bothers it. I noticed that she has a couple

new ones

that are maybe psoriasis? They are really small.

I haven't changed detergents or anything but I think I will get the next

generations one.

Thanks!

I had that when I was younger (junior high age). It was on my ankles and elbows and was very scaly and itched horribly. Fortunately, I grew out of it.

When my allergy to laundry soap/fabric softener started it was little spots mostly where clothes are the tightest (panty line, bra line) and they were kind of scaly looking and red. I don't really know if it was the detergent or fabric softener because I quit the fabric softener and changed laundry soap at the same time.

Anyway, I hope it clears up soon.

Take care,

Kim H.

Kathy,

I noticed that your daughter is not on any meds. I got psoriasis from Humira- your description sounds like it could be this. There are many treatments for this condition. I agree with Kim that you should get it diagnosed soon of it doesn’t clear up.

Thanks,

It's weird, but today they're almost gone. How can they clear up so

quickly, especially when she's had the big one for a couple of weeks.

I had posted earlier this week about her having a flare-up and now

she's over that? It makes me wonder if this was some type of die-off

because she seems to be better for it. Of course, I'm always afraid to

be too hopeful because circumstances can change so quickly, but today

things are definately good.

Thanks for all the responses!
