Guest guest
Yes, I have a bad reaction to coconut oil, either used in cooking or in a veggie dressing (of which I had one teaspoon....). Severe nausea within 15 minutes, followed by my usual Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction symptoms but a more severe level than usual. And the first time or two I tried it, about 6 months after starting SCD, I also had an allergic response in addition to the upper GI symptoms (hives, mild respiratory distress). I tested it periodically over a 12 month period, but had the same reaction every time. I eventually threw out the bottle, and haven't touched it since. Of course I also have a bad reaction to most oils, so my experience isn't the norm. I can tolerate a bit of olive oil used in cooking, but that's it. Kim M. Guest guest
Hey Eileen, Coconut oil is also naturally an anti-fungal. Some people's reactions are that it triggers die-off like effects. I got so sick from it many times. It is one of those foods that some have to build up to tolerate- kind of like yogurt. Jodi
