Guest guest
Hi Debbie, What's the title and which disease is the book about? They asked for my story for the archives at Roadback.com Have you read it? If you think I can benefit from the book, I would love it. I am a writer and a retired nurse of 40+ years. I am currently collaberating with some people to write a book. I do lots of research and reading. So, if you think I'm the right person for the book, I would like it very much. So, I thought I would put it out there......They are not helping anyone sitting in my den and I would like to get them out there....Email me if anyone is interested. Guest guest
Hi, just read your post to Cooky. Thank you, The reason I want to read it is to get info to pass on. I am writing a book besides teaching doc's and patients alike about A/P. Been on A/P for 18 months and just went into remission. I'm ecstatic. Thanks~~~~Dolores Sorry about your fight with insurance companies. In 1991, my husband had 2 strokes and other complications. He was in the hospital for 8 months. After the 3rd. month, his job cancelled his insurance. I, being a nurse, quit my job to take care of him. We had just sold our house and we had to use up every penny before we could get any help. The house money went fast with all the medical bills and we had to fight for two more years just to get his social security disabilty check. Thank God we had an old motorhome which we used to use for vacations. We moved into it and volunteered at a State Park as camp hosts for a free space to finish 4 more years of therapy before he could get back on his feet. It was a nightmare and now I've got S/D & R/A. I think the stress threw me overboard too. They are tough. But try to get your doc to write a letter saying it is a life saving procedure. Also get in touch with your local news channel and tell them the story, If they air it, you may be surprised by a reversal. Doesn't hurt to try! Guest guest
HI Delores, thanks for the update...I was very successful in fighting our insurance company for my lung treatment..BUT this, unfortunately is Medicare!! arghgh So sorry to hear about all you and your hubbys troubles...I know how it is...being sick is a struggle...boy, did I take my good health for granted... I think I have your addy as well as Cooky's but she seemed to feel that Geoff would be a better candidate for Pat Ganger's book...which was very generous of her...I have not had a request from Geoff for it though, so.... Will try and get them in the mail before we leave for our Drs trip.
