Guest guest
I am trying to keep record of what Evan eats each day. If he has any unusual behaviors or health problems. He recently started Risperdal and I keep track of how many days he has been on that. I keep it here in my email so I don't forget to write in it. Now that I have said that, I'd better put a copy in Microsoft works in case I lose it here. So far it has helped some in dating certain behaviors. Like just recently he started having problems getting to the bathroom in time at school and needing a change of clothes. Some days even two changes. That was not normal for him. I don't know what caused it but I do know that it started before he started his Risperdal. So it helps me there. Guest guest
I believe this to be very important, I have kept a diary, mainly the first 2 months, we have not had many real accidents. One reason to do this is for proof should you need it. As in a visit from Division of Family Services (which happened to us a couple of weeks ago) Thanks to my records and my supportive pediatrician, we were completely cleared with in 24 hours of any wrong doing and commended for our hard work in helping my daughter. By the way, one of the reasons we were hotlined was a mention to an uneducated person that we were planning to give charcoal during the first 5 days of Diflucan to minimize yeast dieoff. DFS was under the impression my daughter was being fed charcoal from the BBQ pit out back, LOL, watch what you assume a person can understand about medical issues. > > Reply-To: GFCFKidsegroups > Date: Sat, 21 Oct 2000 20:23:55 -0500 > To: <GFCFKidsegroups> > Subject: diary on progress > > Do any of you keep dairies of how your child's day has been, foods they have > eaten, behaviors, etc? We kept track not only of what and how much he ate, but also how he slept, what his bm's looked like and we even rated his disposition on a scale of 1 to 10. However, we sort of let it go after awhile and we haven't picked it back up. It's one of those things where we keep saying we need to get back to it, but we just haven't managed even though it was pretty valuable. Guest guest
Yes, I do keep a daily diary in Word perfect which I have set up to start-up when I turn on my computer. Otherwise I would never remember, Remy comes by his traits honestly! It is very general, mostly telling how his day went, and loosely what he is eating. If he was severely autistic, I would probably be more specific as is doing. > Do any of you keep dairies of how your child's day has been, foods they have eaten, behaviors, etc? Guest guest
I try to do it weekly or as often as I can. I just write down any changes I see or behaviors. It helps. Lana

Guest guest
DEFINITELY keep a diary. If it wasn't for my diary I would have gone crazy. For the first 4 months I wrote in it every day. I wrote what he ate, what he did at school, how he acted anywhere I took him, how he slept, how he pooped, EVERYTHING. I'm so happy I did because now I look back at it and I can't believe that this was the same boy. It lets you know what kind of progress is going on and helps you to know that the diet is really working event though you want to give up. I now write in it every few days and I write about what has happened in those days. If something dramatic or wonderful has happened I write in it right away. Believe me it is the best thing you can do for yourself.
