Guest guest
Tina, did you read my post a few days ago about the DMHC? It's called "Pre-Op Weight Loss Requirement" and mentions appeals through the DMHC (Department of Managed Healthcare). I would *strongly* advise your friend to take advantage of this FREE service, rather than consult with the obesity lawyer. Although Mr. Lindstrom (I believe that is his name) is excellent, I'm sure, she can likely get approval through the DMHC with no cost to her, and her healthcare provider is obligated to abide by the DMHC's determination, and do her surgery. The whole appeals process (IMR = Independent Medical Review) takes approximately 30 days, and is extremely pro-weight loss surgery! Laurie W. Denial I'm asking a question for a friend...she was denied her request for surgery and is considering using the Obesity Law & Advocacy Center (www.obesitylaw.com) to get her denial overturned. Has anyone used their service? Good? Bad? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Tina Pre-Op
Guest guest
I did read that. I'll find it in my " save " folder and forward it on to her to read it.
