Hey Dale,

While I can't begin to know what you are going through, I can give you my

thoughts, prayers, and support. I think it sounds like you are doing very well

with your situation. All we really have to do is just " be " . " Be " our best

selves, " be " a mate, companion, friend, lover, son, daughter, mother, father,

sister, brother, etc. Be the best self we can, for those that love us, or at

least have to deal with us daily. You CAN find things to do that you can do.

I know you can and will. Even though my PLS is very mild compared to some, I

have days that about all I get done is get up, " be " , then go to bed, praying

that the next day will be more productive. There, that's enough of my 50 cent

sermon, but hang in there, good man, and keep in touch with us!

Hugs,

Laurel

Hey there Dale,

I would just like to say that we all really miss your posts.

It really sounds like you are taking good care of Dale.

Your last paragraph said so much, I beleive for the most part everyone of us

feel the same way, but you said it a lot better than I ever could.

Dale keep taking care of yourself, sounds like you are doing a great job. Sandy

Dale's musing

Hi folks,

I'm not writing a lot because is still takes a lot to time and energy for me

but I also miss it, hence another one of my writings.

As you guys know the last three months have been very difficult for me and

its made me look even deeper into myself. I realized yesterday what it

truly means by the saying " you must live day by day " . I've been having many

days that about all I can do is get up, clean up, and just be. I have to be

selfish and just do what I can and accept that. This is so foreign to me.

I have always been goal orientated, planner and tried to do things for

others. 25 years ago we dairy farmed and when we quit I told Jen I would

never work for myself again because I could never be happy with what I did.

I was a good supervisor because I always worked with my people, praised them

and would tell them not to be so hard on themselves if they made a mistake.

Something I could not do to myself.

Where is this taking me? I have been getting very frustrated lately because

I have had so many of these days. I can't plan, have goals, or even help

much. I was angry with myself if I had a bad day I would think I have to

make up for it the next day. But now I can't... and then it hit me, I am

working for myself once again. I have to stop whipping myself by using my

old standards, very easily said, so difficult to do.

I'm not saying that I give up planning or goals but that if I can't do it,

don't beat myself up. I did not choose this, life forced it on me and all I

can do is the best that I can each day.

Thanks for listening, this really tired me out but I wanted to write it.

Dale, you just hang in there. There's bad days and good days we all have

them. I get tried just getting out of bed and going to the bathroom at night!!

I think you've reached your lowest point so everything else from here on

in has to be upward for you. Just " be " for a while......................Flora

Hi Dale,

In line with Laurel has said, I find the following saying to be helpful:

I am only one,

But I am one.

I can't do everything,

But I can do something.

And what can do,

With the help of God,

I will do..........
