Guest guest
Hi , My grandson had his first full blown attack on January 4th 2000. The ER said it was food posioning. For the next few months every morning after breakfast he would complain about his stomach hurting. His teacher felt he didnt want to come to school and was just faking it, (He was in an excelarated class, with alot of pressure) so I agreed to send him anyway . In March he had another bout, this time the ER said it was the stomach flu. By now I felt I needed to make sure just in case, that there wasnt anything wrong with him. The soonest I could get him in to a GI Dr. was July. At first the Dr was more concerned about his obesity. He had gained 15 pounds in 3 months with out any change in his diet and even an increase in his energy output, but after blood tests came back she informed me that he had Pancreatitis. They told me he was to be on a NO fat diet. I asked is that healthy for a growing boy to have no fats? They upped it to 5 grs a day. We have had a heck of a time getting his Lipase down. Have you been able to get your daughters levels down? also has idiopathic Chronic Pancreatitis. Is there any history of it in either side of her parents? Anyway can be reached at my email. Just have her put his name in the subject line. I don't know how to set up an email address for him. My husband does, but he has to completely redo our computer due to a viris that killed our new haard drive. We are using our old one and he doesnt want to spend time with this one. I think would love a pen pal I know he would like to be able to talk to someone who goes thru the pain that he does. has been pretty lucky so far. The LOW FAT diet has kept him pain free. except for the one time at Christmas and stupid Granny felt sorry for him and let him splurge, that was an awful mistake, expensive too, one that I won't make again. Mikki. .. Re: Need info on handleing this condition > Hi my name is and my 11 year old daughter has > idiopathic Chronic Pancreatitis. She was diagnosed > with this Jan 2000. Guest guest
Hey Mikki, Yes I would love ideas for new dishes to make...but we are like you and we buy a lot of fat free products. And Jackie has a normal gallbladder too so we know your frustrations. How is doing? Jackie is still pretty good, all the emotions of this illness is kinda hard though. I hope is still pain free...Talk to you soon __________________________________________________
