Hi ,

I'll say " no " to the skin rashes for me but a great big " yes " to the knots

under the skin. My physical therapist says they are contratures in the

tendons and/or muscles. In my case the cause of these knots is unclear

because I also have fibromyalgia, so they may be 'trigger points'. Of

course, spasticity causes muscle contractures, too. Regardless of the cause,

they are extremely painful and fortunately are very treatable by my

therapist. She locates the 'hot spot' and then knows how to position that

area until the knot dissipates. A good program of stretching exercises helps

prevent them to a great degree.

Welcome ,

You have found a great group of friends here that will do there best at helping

you with questions. This group is so supportive in many cituations.

I dont have a problem with rashes, but I do have problems with the knots.

As Dolores mentioned stretching excersizes helps alot.

You didnt mention if your Neuro put you on any meds.

I am on 70mg of Baclofen, and also Neurotin, these both help with the spacticity

and knots. I am also on Provigil to help me with my fatigue, Trazadone to help

me sleep at night, and here in Oregon we have medical marijuana which I only use

at bed time, this helps with sleep and spacticity.

Please feel free to ask away at questions or just ask for support, we will laugh

and cry, get angry and happy with you.

Hi ,

Welcome aboard! Not happy that you have PLS, but happy you do not have to go

through it alone. Yes, I have had rashes. I now have one on my chest and the

doctor gave me medicine for it but it's not working well. I have to go back

to him and tell him about it. Not going to my neurologist though but my Primary

care physician. So it's not unusual for you to have it. Don't worry this too

shall pass. Take care friend and...
