Guest guest
, From my experience you're eating solids, no matter how well mushed up, too soon. Dr. R's instructions say liquids + yogurt for 10-14 days. If your surgery was 02/25 your day 11 would be this coming Tuesday 03/07. Then, although Dr. R says you may stay on the soft food diet for as long as you like, it would seem that meatballs and chicken breasts would be rushing it. Soft foods are more like cottage cheese, refried beans, puddings, soft scrambled eggs, etc. I don't want to start a war but MHO is that all the compliance with medication times and amounts will not work without full compliance with the post-op lifestyle. Guest guest
na & Pat, I have had the heartburn as I said since the day after surgery. I have been on nothing but liquids until yesterday when I tried something else thinking that may be the problem. It has nothing to do with trying a bite of chicken (which didn't stay down anyway) or a bite of meatball. Dr. R said it is bile, and it will go away. It sounds as though this is a typical side effect for the first few weeks.
Guest guest
, I had to sleeep in my recliner, I still do sometimes, but I can sleep for a few hours a night laying down now. the problem was during first couple months seem liked the acid would come up an cause me to vomit. it is getting better now though, and I do enjoying sleeping in my bed more. My surg was 12/28/99, I have lost 43 lbs. had to do some mall shopping yesterday for grandaughters birthday, I did so much better, didn use a scooter or walker. I felt so good! jane jane >From: GiftAngels@... > >A question for those that have been post op for a while. Guest guest
It sounds like you may be trying to go too fast with the chicken breast and meatball! Have you really studied the post-op diet recommendations? I have kept a notebook of e-mails for a year and it seems that the people who have trouble are the people who are trying to rush the solids. Also, it seems that OJ does not sit well with a lot of new post ops. I am not talking from experience but from all the posts I have read. Good luck.
