Re: cost of crowns??

I think it probably depends on where you are. But I am certain, and I

am also facing the prospect of four porcelain crowns right up front,

on top, that this is not something I'd want to take the low bid on.

My dentist told me about $600 each, I think. Ouch! I am still trying

to figure out the possible alternatives, but I fear that decay in one

tooth that has had a root canal will eliminate my choice. Of course,

insurance should at least help pay for that one. I live in relatively

low-cost Alabama, though. If I were in L.A., I suspect, it would be

considerably pricier, or in N.Y.

Best,

Cammie

Thanks Cammie,

I phoned around my area and got some quotes as low as $775 but those

were for porcelan with metal base, not gold base... I don't know if

that really makes any difference in how it holds up ...

I also found out that I will get a better deal by going to an in-

network dentist ... that wasn't an issue before cause my two dental

plans always coordinated to 100% anyway... but this time the charges

will be more than my yearly allowed amount so I have to try to

stretch the dollars...

Thanks for you reply!

$915 is not bad in California these days. Here in Nevada,

where things are cheaper, there is a place of admittedly

high quality adheasive restorations (crown alternatives)

they simply charge 1,200.00 per tooth flat!
