Guest guest
You don't have a therapist you see on a regular basis that could help you with this? Tina was hospitalized a few times for mental issues and I can tell you it isn't anything to be afraid of. They are there to help you and the places Tina was at wanted you to work at your own rate. If you sign yourself in, you can check out anytime so that would help alleviate some of your fears about being "trapped" in there. I would think that you could do your stuff outpatient with a good therapist and they could answer your questions about inpatient care also. Good for you, seeing that you do need help and being willing to ask for it. depression questions I know this is a very sensetive question, but I need some answers. Has anyone on the list ever been hospitalized for mental problems? My counselor who has now moved mentioned a couple of times about me going inpaitent for awhile to try and regulate my meds, also while getting some intensive therapy. I realize that I'm in a really bad way right now and and I talked about it last night, he was the one that actually brought it up. The thought of doing it frankly scares the crap outta me, I don't do good where I don't know what to expect, or know anyone, etc. If I don't know someone (like a new shrink or counselor) I may not talk to them, since I don't know them. Yeah its a trust issue. If, now if, I was to go inpatient what should I expect?? They'd probally have to take me in there kicking and screaming, because I'd be leaving my security blanket (which is ), and then here would come out all that primal rage that I've gotten boxed up in me. I've been diagnosed with severe depression, panic & anxiety attacks, and that post-tramatic (I can't remember the rest of it). I think something else is going on tho, and no one has asked the right questions to find it out. If that makes sense. Does anyone remember those "hellraiser's" movies? Remember the box that they had to figure out how to open, well that's what I feel like, someone is gonna have to find out how to open that box to help me, and I don't know that once its opened that it can get shut again. Sorta like Pandora's box, I guess. If you want to email me privately that's okay (leebaby@...) , or on the list. Guest guest
Good. Tell him exactly what you've told us. RE: depression questions Okay, I just called my psych's office and I've got an appointment with another doc tomorrow afternoon. I think he's the one that my counselor worked under. Guest guest
You don't have a therapist you see on a regular basis that could help you with this? Yeah, I see my psych for my meds monthly and I was seeing a liscensed couselour every 2 weeks to 1 month but she just moved due to her hubby's job and the new counselour at this place doesn't start until next Friday. The appointment I have for tomorrow is for the Hey, just found a pic and bio of my psych lol http://www.tulsaworld.com/specads/h-mental/som-staff.asp scroll down to Ann . I must say that's a bad picture of her. lol I was talking to the counselour about my problems and the psych handles my meds, if the psych doesn't spend over 15 minutes with me at a time and asks just a few questions then how is she supposed to know what meds might help me?? hhhhhmmmm
Guest guest
, I was hospitalized. I have to say I got nothing out of it. Explain to your doctor that being away from your home will make you feel more unstable. Ask if you can be partially hospitalized. Going in for the days and sleeping at home. If they are only doing it to regulate your meds--let your insurance know so that they don't apporve the hospitaliztion as it will just be wastin gtheir money. good luck, kayly
