Guest guest
Jane, I hope you will hire a lawyer and sue your insurance company after you come home and are recouperated from your surgery. That's is what I am doing.. My surgery was Jan 10th, 2000. If I win my case against them then they will have to pay me 3 times what they owe me!! Please say this is your plan, as we must not let them get away with this kind of action. in Missouri

Guest guest
I'm just afraid that in my case I don't have anything to fight with. I haven't been to the doctor for any of my pains and I am trying to stop the problem before any other medical problems come around. I just think that I am going to have to be a self-pay and forget it. Thanks for your help. - Kansas City
Guest guest
, I thought the same thing too, but you know what, I decided that it was worth the fight and I won. It took me several months of crying and anger, but I won. You just have to show them that this is what you need to go on in life and it discriminating against you if you are not allowed to have this procedure done. And explain to them that they pay out good money for people to go to rehab for drug abuse and pay out good money for people to have abortions. All those are electives and you want to have this done. You really need to try fist and not give up so quickly. Stand your ground and fight. Don't be scared of them make them scared of you. You be the boss you are the one that is paying for the insurance. Guest guest
I too am learning things from this group...bless all of you. I have burnout so bad and I don't know what to do. I look forward to turning on the puter on every morning to see who has written what. I'm not sure if is being stubborn sometimes or if his brain really isn't clicking sometimes. Sometimes he looks as if he is in another world, one that I am no longer a part of. In Sept. I will have 40 yrs. invested in this man and I don't intend on giving up now. I am 10 yrs. younger than so I should be able to hang in there for him...LOL, hope so anyway !!!!!! It's getting harder and harder to go anywhere together. He doesn't have a cath. yet but I feel like it won't be long. We don't go out to eat with the kids very much anymore, he really has a problem handling his food now and I have to chop some things up for him. I chop fresh fruit up and use a lot of can fruits. He gets 1-2 ensures(generic) daily and lots of water. I know how important water is so I always make sure he has a glass in at least two rooms. Home health is suppose to be checking on a trapise for his bed. I think it will help his arms and I know it will help me if he can help lift himself in the bed. It's getting so late ( 1 am) and I need to get to bed. Will write more later. I have enjoyed talking to all of you, wish it were better times for all of us. Good night.....Donna Moxley

Guest guest
Just a suggestion, we use depends on Al every day , since he can't get to the john quick enough. It has really improved us going places , so if he has an slight accident it is not from the skin out. Guest guest
Because of the way the stomach lies and connects with the esophagus. If that sphincter muscle is weak --which it is when you have GERD--it will more easily allow the reflux to occur. Kathy Kathy And of course not sleeping on your right side.Kathy, This is new info for me.....why not on your R side with GERD?Thanks,MelindaPlease visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com
Guest guest
Thanks, Melinda. I did most of my shopping on-line, but have a few things I need to get in stores. Usually my Mom and I take a day, so I'm hoping my energy improves. Kathy Kathy Take care, Kathy....Thanks for the reminder about masks and hand washing. I have some masks left over from when the nurses came this summer, so will get them out. Bob is supposed to be able to get a flu shot today, so maybe we will all escape the worse of it. I certainly can support your stand on it for you, though--especially since you are not out in crowds that much. I am concerned about me getting it since I am still on the pred but I am still on Augmentin for the sinusitis that still is bugging me. I know the antibiotic isn't going to cover the flu, but I guess it makes me feel some better psychologically...lol. Bob is going to take care of Christmas shopping next week when we get paid again so I don't have to get out in the crowds. We have had Christmas all year around here and the kids are aware that they won't be getting as many gifts--they seem fine with the idea; we are trying to focus on the less fortunate. My nieces and nephews are getting a check each so it makes it easier. All but the two year old are teenagers and they mainly want CD's so it gives them the option of getting what they want. Again, take care. I am concerned about you and I think giving yourself till tomorrow to call the doc is reasonable. (yes, I know I am not your mother...lol)Hugs,MelindaPlease visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com
