Guest guest
Hi Cecilia, I was 53 (actually just a month shy of 54) when I had surgery. I have met quite a few folks who were in their sixties when they had surgery. The general state of your health seems to be much more important than your age. Wish I could have had this surgery when I was in my thirties. Wow! I'm feeling great at my age, I can only imagine what it would be like to be young and thin. ;-) All the best, Kay in San Leandro open RNY 12/1/03 snickers_95203@... wrote: > i missed the show! i tried so hard not to fall asleep > but friday was a tought day and i couldnt keep my eyes > open. can someone tell me the jist of the show? > and did it end up being more positive than negative? > also one more question. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, Knee surgery on the 18th! I am so excited for you! Are you having both of them replaced at the same time or will you be having one done at a time? Since I am in the queue to have my knees replaced, I am very interested in hearing of your experience - if you don't mind sharing it. My orthopedist estimated that I'd be having surgery in March, ‘05. I'll keep you in my prayers for an uncomplicated surgery and full and speedy recovery. I was an insulin dependent diabetic, have arthritis and high blood pressure - had to use a walker or a wheelchair to get around. I have lost 130 lbs and am at goal. I am no longer diabetic. I will have knee replacement surgery 11-18-04. I feel so much better. My exercise activity includes Curves and water exercise class for arthritis. I no longer need a walker, but the knees are bone-on-bone, so they need to be replaced. I don't know anyone who is older than me that has had the surgery. All I can say is that it worked for me and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Good luck! Ellen in Concord, CA
