Guest guest
Marla, The way iritis is diagnosed is by a slit lamp. The eye doctor looks through it and can see if there is any inflammation. If you had iritis and it was untreated the pain would become unbearable, at least that is how it has been for me. I am sorry you are having these problems. Hope you feel better soon. Guest guest
I think, "Shame on this doctor!!!...he should be telling you to get to your optometrist!!! Speaking of iritis I just got back from the eye doc because I had all the symptoms mentioned in this post, burning, painful, watery, sensitive to light left eye, very deep ache in it, and some blurred vision. The doc told me I have a sinus infection and gave me an antibiotic; he said my eye looks fine?? Told me to try the antibiotic and if not better by next Monday to come in and do a field vision test, if worse call back. I have had many sinus infections; this does not feel like one, but OK?? What do you all think?? Marla "I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." Guest guest
Jane, He did use a slit lamp, and said it looked normal, and it is better today, so maybe he is right, I’ve just never had a sinus infection with symptoms like that before, I have NO congestion?? But like I said it is better today, definitely not worse. So will hang in there. Marla Re: Iritis question Marla, The way iritis is diagnosed is by a slit lamp. Guest guest
Marla, that doesn't sound like sinusitis to me (the expert at the other end). What kind of eye doc did you see? If it wasn't an opthamologist, see one. If it was an optometrist, you need to see the other one. Tracie will be on your case! Guest guest
Marla, I agree with Joan and Rose. And it couldn't hurt to get another opinion cuz it is your eyes we're talking about here. hugs S. ps...give yourself permission to take care of yourself the way you would care for those kids of yours....hugsRose wrote: Marla, that doesn't sound like sinusitis to me (the expert at the other end). Guest guest
Marla I am happy that your eye is better, I wouldn't cancel the follow ups even though it is feeling better. Best to get things double checked and be sure its all cleared up. Take care, Kim NS Moderator
Guest guest
Thank you all so much, I love you all. My eye is better, the tenderness is almost gone, it’s still tearing but it did that a lot before the tenderness. The doc I saw was on ophthalmologist, not the one I usually see because he semi retired and hard to see on a moments notice. I’m supposed to have a peripheral vision test on Monday and follow up with the same doc on Tues. I was going to cancel these appts as he said to if I was better, what do you all think?? Thanks again, Rose, isn’t is nice to have friends in the medical field, it can sure save money, and any way we can save, it helps. I hope you are feeling better now!! Take care. God Bless, Marla Re: Iritis question Marla, I agree with Joan and Rose. Guest guest
Marla, I vote to keep the follow up appts, esp. the vision test. Iritis can be sneaky, so don't just rely on it feeling better. Rose, who knows very little about eyes, but is bossy Re: Iritis question I think, "Shame on this doctor!!!...he should be telling you to get to your optometrist!!!
