Hello Everyone,

I haven't been around for a couple of weeks, I miss everyone and hope that everyone is doing well and had a nice 4th of July. I apologize that I disappeared without warning. I have had a pretty miserable few weeks for many different reasons. First off, my computer crashed which is why I disappeared. I was so busy working and also have not been feeling well at all, so I did not have time to fix it until this weekend. I have lost alot of my e-mails and had to delete most of the ones that were still here. I am totally clueless about anything that has been going on with any of you. I hated being out of touch but I had no choice with my computer. I want to thank those of you who wrote personal e-mails, I have not read them yet but as soon as I finish this I will. Everything else I had to delete, it was very old anyway, e-mails from the last week I didn't even receive at all. I did see one about volunteers to write about RSD and was wondering if anyone has done this or plans to do this. I need to check the website out but was curious if it was valid or not. Anyway, please know I was thinking of all of you while I couldn't be here and am anxious to see how everyone is doing.

I'm still in a great deal of pain and fighting with my docs. I cannot get the treatment until August so I'm just sitting here waiting still in pain. My mom came down for like 2 days but we didn't really patch anything up with our relationship. I had a whole ordeal with my doctor's nurse and my pain meds...to make it a short story she lied to me about overnighting my prescription, she really snail mailed it and I ended up in the Emergency Room to get pain meds. Does anyone know of a place to report nurses? I am going to report her for putting me through that hell. Then I went for my checkup with my Rheumatologist about the Lupus and she increased my meds for it as they are not helping. Also she said I have tendonitis in my rotator cuff (shoulder) and my left hand/wrist/thumb. I need to get a thumb splint, have x-rays on my hands and shoulder, and start Physical Therapy on both. She also said I may have torn or partially torn my rotator cuff. If the therapy doesn't help after a month I need to have an MRI on my shoulder and see if the Rotator Cuff is torn. Only way I can see this happening is from pulling myselft up when I stand, overusing it. Has anything like this happened to anyone?? I hope it is not torn for I don't want to have surgery on it.

And last my job is starting to get tired of my absence and my boss said I need to come in more. This is pretty much impossible so I have to talk to him on Tuesday and see if they will be patient for just one more month until I can get treatment. I don't think it's fair because the only reason I'm waiting is because my doc is on vacation until the middle of July, and then because of my job I have to wait until the first week of the month. So I don't think it is fair not to wait a month when they are causing me to wait a month. I'm hoping they will see my logic otherwise I think I will soon be unemployed.

So needless to say it has not been a good few weeks for me. Anyway, I need to stop typing but wanted to catch everyone up and I hope to catch up on everyone here. Talk to you all soon.

<hugs> Lori

Hi Lori I am new to the group but yes I has rotator cuff problems, they used electrical therapy didn't work, then ultrasound, it worked good but then I got the SCS and so no more ultrasound. They used some patch that had no electrical current but it worked good and took the pain away for several weeks, now my elbow is giving me problems I think from using my cane too much. Nice to meet you

,

Thank you again, I appreciate the information. I know mine is a combination as I have RSD throughout my body and this rotator cuff thing is new, just form overuse. I guess I need to come up with a new way of getting myself up so I don't keep yanking on my arm...lol. Have a good night and thanks again for everything.

Lori,

My RSD started right ankle the up the leg and thigh and a little to the left before I got the SCS. The shoulder problem us over use. I had broken my left wrist at the same time I broke the right ankle and shattered the right hip. I was non weight bearing for months, hopping on the left leg with a walker. My right arm did a lot of work, still does. As for tendonitis, I had a Ortho doc tell me I had tendonitis of the ankle, tats why it was so swollen but low and behold a couple months later a neurologist said it was RSD. My therapist had been telling me I had RSD for months, but the doctors said no. The swelling was up to my knee by the time I saw a neurologist. So I don't know if tendonitis isn't from the RSD, mine turned out not to be tendonitis. But we all know everyone is different. Good Luck. J

Hi, nice to meet you too! I've been MIA for a few weeks but welcome to the group. Thank you for responding about the rotator cuff. I believe they will be doing similar therapy on mine but they also want to see how the x-rays come out. I don't know where you have RSD, was it in your shoulder? Or was it something from overuse or something torn? I'm just curious because I have full body RSD but she said the RSD did not cause the tendonitis or tear, just overuse did. Please let me know when you can.

<hugs> Lori
