Guest guest
Hi Carol, I am doing a protein and exercise train. I could use some company, perhaps you may want to join me. I am doing nothing but protein shakes and small protein meals and lots and lots of water. I am also doing an exercise train too. I am to work out everyday for the next 7 days. Unless my body says otherwise, I dont want to over do it and set myself back. Let me know. Shauna mblaman2001 wrote: Hi everyone, I am one year post-op and 20 lbs. from my goal. My problem had always been sugar prior to surgery and I still can't completely eliminate it from my diet now that I have started eating it again. I have been maintaining this weight for two months and need to jump start my commitment not only for these 20 lbs. but so that I don't ever get back to where I started. Has anyone else struggled with this and successfully turned it around? I am feeling so badly about myself right now when I should be feeling great. thanks for any comments. carol --------------------------------- Groups are talking. We & acute;re listening. Guest guest
Try sugar-free products that are sweetened with splenda or other sugar substitutes. When I need something sweet, I may have a sugar free peanut butter cookie that way its sugar free and I get some protein. Or, I found some sugar free oatmeal cookies too. My son's birthday is coming up and I found many recipes so that I can bake him a cake with frosting using splenda products. I think I am going to test it before hand to ensure it will turn out. I'll let you know how it goes. Splenda's website has a lot of recipes. I also found a baker that specializes in sugar free cakes, so if my test does not turn out, I'll order one. Just my attempt at embracing this new sugar free life using alternatives. in Virginia 299/245/150 Lap RNY: 5/3/06 frrustrated Hi everyone, I am one year post-op and 20 lbs. from my goal. Guest guest
Hi Mike, They range from $28.95 to $41.95 depending on size and flavor. Here is the website if you want to check it out: http://www.diabeticdreams.com/store/classic_cakes.html They seem a little pricey, but I'll only order one only if I can't get mine to turn out. in Virginia 299/245/150 Lap RNY: 5/3/06 Re: frrustrated > Try sugar-free products that are sweetened with splenda or other sugar > substitutes. Guest guest
, Could you share the site for the sugar free cakes? We celebrate a lot of birthdays in our family. A lot of them are very close together....even those not have WLS could use the less sugar!! Thanks so much. Laurel
Guest guest
I don't touch anything that does not say sugar free. There are so many substitutes now for sugar, its awesome when you know your HAVE to have it. I get sugar free chocolate candy if I KNOW I will take it from somewhere, I might as well get something that is more healthy, that way the carbs are the damage and I can bounce back from that. wrote: I am in the same boat. Guest guest
Laurel, Here is the website: http://www.diabeticdreams.com/store/classic_cakes.html. I loved reading the story about how the business came about; it was quite interesting. Enjoy! Re: frrustrated , Could you share the site for the sugar free cakes?
