Guest guest
When my son was born in 1975 it was still common practice to circumcise baby boys at birth, but they did, of course, need signed consent first. Sometime in the 1980's men started this backlash thing, calling it mutilation and I remember reading about one man who sued his parents over it. I think now you have to request it. What the backlash was over was that in circumcised males the head of the penis becomes somewhat callused (not so we'd notice, though, LOL) and there is decreased sensitivity. Although I've never noticed any of my significant others having a problem in that area. And since they should be mostly wearing condoms anyway.... Also, believe it or not, there is a study that says that circumcised males masturbate more because they crave the sensation that is denied them by circumcision. At any rate, other than a few males who have developed mental problems over having been mutilated (who in my opinion, have other mental problems anyway, LOL) the decreased sensitivity seems to be the only down side. Although, of course, when it is done at a later time there would be a certain mental trauma. And, of course, on the rare (very) occasion that a Doc or Rabbi goofs....
