Guest guest
Hi , I read on your last email that you are in Arizona. My wife and I live in Mesa. Could you tell me what doctor you're seeing. My wife has been diagnosed with MCTD or Lyme, which ever doctor is looking at her. Thanks Phil rheumatic Re: Know a Physician in Birmingham Alabama? I just remembered there is a Lyme doc in Missouri. In O'Fallon I think. He is somewhat close. I can get his name if anyone is interested. If anyone will travel to AZ my dr will treat RA and Lyme with abx. Just thought I would put that out in case someone else on board is in my state. > who uses antibiotics to treat rheum problems?? Guest guest
Hi , Dr. Sentef's treatment uses Minocin (2 x 100 mg), Metronidazol (Flagyl)(2 x 250 mg) and Ketocanazol ( Nizoral) ( 2 x 200 mg) every day until blood values are normal (ESR and CRP) If you are RF positive this factor is the most reliable indicator. It takes from 3 to 6 months to reach normal values. About 80 % of patients respond successfully. Good luck, tickmeister1 wrote: > > Do you know what the triple antibiotic treatment is? Guest guest
, One more thing. Since the liver has to process all these antibiotics and other medications, it needs all the support it can get. For this reason, take 2 x 600 mg N-Acetylcysteine (NAC)per day. Milk thistle extract is another good liver support. tickmeister1 wrote: > > Do you know what the triple antibiotic treatment is? Guest guest
Hi Dodo; That is the same protocol that I am doing. MP becomes a 3er in the last stage. mike rosner wrote: > Hi , I would like to know about the triple antibotic therapy > also. Guest guest
, The Nizoral is an antifungal antibiotic and is meant to fight any candida in fection. It is often dropped after a month or two. Since in your casethe CRP and ESR is low or even normal I suspect you do not have RA. NSAIDS would not reduce these parameters to normal. My wife took Naproxen and others for months without reducing her CRP and ESR. tickmeister1 wrote: > > , > > Thank you for posting the dosages and meds. I have taken Minocin and > Flagyl together. The liver needs glutathione to process the toxins, but glutathione is found low in people with disease as well as in the aged. Glutathione does not survive stomach acid so should be taken sublingually or, better yet, in an IV push; however, both NAC and ALA are precursors to glutathione. Both supplements are great antioxidants as is glutathione - often called the master antioxidant. . I have a note in my files that says NAC has oxidizing properties, so when taking it you should always take three times as much Vitamin C as NAC. If you have elevated liver enzymes you might want to also consider castor oil liver packs. Ethel
Guest guest
Hi , The question about liver protectants and interference with antibiotics is a tricky one. Not all antibiotics crash with liver protectants. So, do a web search for your antibiotic. Since the liver is such an important organ, i would rather compromise the antibiotic than risk the liver. If you can space the antibiotic, maybe you can use the liver protectant in between. Find out what half-life your antibiotic has and follow with the liver protectant when the AB is out of the system. Good Luck, tickmeister1 wrote: > > , > > I've been really uncertain as of late what to do about milk thistle, > etc. My first LLMD insisted one must take liver support supplments > to survive the antibiotics.
