My first A1c was 14.6! Eek1

My first fasting test, done at the same time as my A1c, was 18.5. My second, a

week later, was down to 10.0. That was simply through cutting out as much

sugary food as possible, and before I settled on an appropriate " eating plan " .

A week later, and I'd got myself sorted out with a meter, and began to test

regularly. Most readings were in the 9-10 range, sometimes higher, but after

another week, I was seeing readings as " low " as 7. Unfortunately, I then went

to Singapore for three weeks, and my readings remained elevated - whether it was

due to the heat, or the stress of the job that I was doing at the time, I don't

know. However, just a few days after returning home, roughly 5 weeks after

being diagnosed, I was regularly seeing readings around about the 5 mark. YMMV,

of course, but I hope that gives you some idea of what to expect....

regards,

Eddie.
