Hello,

I got my lab work back today and wanted to know if this was normal.

My creatinine for my blood was 0.8 (0.6 to 1.2 is n ormal on their scale)

but the creatinine in the urine was 189 (that number scares me). Does

anyone know if that number means anything? They didn't have a range for

that number.

My Albumin in my blood was 5.0 (just norm) and the micro albumin was also

within the normal range.

My A1C was 5.6.

Jeff:

See www.labtestsonline.org for descriptions of all common lab tests.

If your test was a 24-hour urine sample preceeded or followed by a

blood draw, then it probably was the " Creatinine Clearance " test.

They have a good discussion of the test there --- but basically it is

a test to determine if your kidneys are functioning normally. The

test compares the amount of creatinine in your urine vs. creatinine

in your blood. The exact number ranges are different for men/women,

age, weight, and type of test.

Hi Jeff..

I just had blood work done too and my creatinine was 1.3, the top of

" normal " on my hospital's scale. My urologist was thrilled with that number,

as I had my left kidney removed 3 years ago.

I didn't see anything that looked like a " creatinine in the urine " category.

My last A1C was 6.4 but the doc wants it lower. I'm afraid it's going to be

higher the way I've been sneaking christmas goodies lately....
