Guest guest
My family doctor is actually pretty good with diabetes and better than my first endo. What I find though is that with an endo or the joslin center, etc. you have more access to classes, new treatments, etc. > > Whom do you usually see for treating your diabetes? We are currently working with our family doctor who is really great, but I wonder if my husband should be seeing an endocrinologist. There is a very good hospital with a great diabetes unit nearby (I should know, I did my MT internship there) so I'm pretty certain we could find someone good if we needed to. > > > Lynette > >

Guest guest
Quite interesting with this Subject... because over all, I think it depends on where you live, and what kind of Doctor you really have as in the Education level, and age of the Physician... and a lot of time also I think it is what level your BG is at also. For me, a reg. dr. was OK before I started having the major issues of Chronic wounds, and high out of control BG, and then when you try to get a better Dr. am told no Drs. were taking my Insurance, so for me, I had to end up in the hospital to get the endo that I see. I guess you just play it by ear, ask questions in the Group, see how your husbands BG are, and then go from there. And if you need too, check around with a couple of DRS. if you have to before you make the final decision. ~~TINA~~ -- Family doctor or endocrinologist?
