You may find more pump help on insulinpumpers message board. I use a

Deltec Cozmo and prefer it over the Minimed products.

It can't be that rare, can it?

Hi Peggy,

We do have members using the pump. They may be just as busy as I am getting

ready for Christmas. I'm sure you'll hear from them.

hugs

I did post there ... however, not much response. (Actually that

board seems to be slanted a bit anti-MM. I had a couple of people

answer my question, but in a private email.) Anyway, I thought I

might find someone on this board. However, today I found out just

how new the 515 is ... I'm not surprised few people have one.

I looked into the Cozmo ... would cost me about $20 less for pretty

much the same stuff. However, I've been using MM for 10 years and

they've been great. When I got my original pump, the choices were MM

or Disetronic (sp?) and I chose MM. The only reason I can see to NOT

choose one now is that I could use up the 3 or 4 extra boxes of sof-

sets I have. I'm thinking that's not enough of an investment loss to

base my decision on. After some questions and answers with some

Cozmo users (and the two MM users) plus reps for both, I decided to

go with MM again. I should get my pump in next week! :)

Regardless, I'm surprised there aren't at least a few pumpers here.

It can't be that rare, can it?

Peggy :)

I'm anti-MM for now because they charge $ for everything. With

Deltec (s Medical) everything from software upgrades to add on's

like the meter are ALL free. I can't afford several hundered dollars

every couple of months.

Also, I prefer the new modern look and features of the Cozmo. MM is

still old school for me. The whole activate button annoys the heck

out of me.

Perhaps in the future MM will appeal to me, but for the above reasons

I choose Cozmo.

Pump users are rare. Type 1's only account for 10% of the diabetic

population and about 1% of those are on a pump.

Yes, everything is included initially, but upgrades throughout the

four years are additional, from what I've seen. They just put out

another software upgrade that was $100-150, can't remember.
