Guest guest
> It would be nice to hear updates from the other folk here who are in the early post ablation stage (I think there's quite a few of us ******** Hi , I had my ablation 3 weeks ago. Have had 3 episodes of " stuff " since then. I called my EKGs into the CCF with the monitor provided. First episode was NSR with frequent pacs. 2nd and longest episode was an all-nighter with high heart rates, low heart rates and god knows what with periods of NSR mixed in. The two EKGs I called in were some kind of sinus tachycardia and the second one stumped even the doctor, but he didn't think it was afib. The third episode was afib with a much higher heart rate than I normally have. Minerva, one of Dr. Natale's nurses, called me back and told me very firmly that I should not be at all concerned by any episodes that occur during the first 8 weeks (as long as I'm feeling alright with them, of course, and nothing too extreme happens.) She said these early episodes are caused by the swelling of the heart post- ablation. She said 40% of their patients have them and the vast majority go on to be cured. She said that I was actually doing very well, and that some people have to be cardioverted more than once in the first 8 weeks, and that even those people go on to be cured. Except for these episodes, I have been in total NSR and feel terrific. Like you, I am sleeping much better. I'm too busy with work, family and friends to dwell on the what-ifs. Here's hoping that it turns out well for both of us.

I had quite a few days of AF and then it went away. I still have short runs of AF, but (I hate to jinx myself) feeling more NSR than AF. I just wished the shortness of breath and fatigue would go away. I still am on my Flec and will go off that med at the end of March. I have my check up with Natale in April so I guess I will know for sure if I need anything more. I am encourged that I am having more sinus than AF. I truly hope others are feeling better too. My work has been so busy I come home at night and collaspe on the couch and veg out for the night. I try and keep up on all my reading here, but sadly I have fallen way behind. I love the support here. Keep in touch. Kat in OH __________________________________ Celebrate Yahoo!'s 10th Birthday! Yahoo!
