Guest guest
The frozen stuff is pretty good in my opinion, if you don't buy the mini teeny things (at least I don't like those). They are so easy to take a few out, thaw them and eat them however. And low points!! Hey ! how do you buy your shrimp? or anyone else.. i love shrimp and of course could learn to cook with it.. but have never bought it. Its very expensive most the time.. and i dont know whether the frozen is good or if buying the fresh (like deli kind) is better. I live in the midwest so real fresh isnt an option... AWW?! thanx JENN An interesting question I was looking around for info on ICBINB ( I had read in the Prevention Mag. that it isn't as healthy as they say) and ran into this site : http://pub70.ezboard.com/flightenup78347frm8.showMessage?topicID=2.topic The question is: What are your OP staples? There are lots of ideas there for freezers, pantry, etc. I was wondering what your answers would be. I haven't been at this long enough to have staples yet because I had to use up the food that I had already. Soon I will be ready to refill the pantry. Weezie~There are no strangers here... Guest guest
Frozen shrimp, like in packages, is not very good, I think. I buy it from the seafood counter. It is better if it has never been frozen, but it is ok if it has been frozen or you freeze it at home. I try to buy peeled and deveined shrimp because I think they are gross without deveining, and it is such a pain to do it yourself. But they are pretty expensive! When I buy them, I try to remind myself how much I once spent on eating out and fast food. That makes them seem cheaper! Guest guest
I love this recipe! Margot -- Re: Shrimp buying? My favorite is our shrimp scampi. We marinate the shrimp in olive oil, garlic (a lot!), oregano, salt, and pepper. Then, we stick them on skewers and put the skewers across a baking pan. We broil them in the oven until they are pink (don't overcook - it makes them tough).
