Guest guest
, Have you tried asking here for help? That's what we are here for. Craig is VERY controlled, maybe that would help you more though. What about YOUR leader? Can't you talk to her? That's what they're there for, right? Can you can ttend another meeting and ask there? The ladies at our meeting place are very helpful--not just the leaders but also the receptionist, the weighers, etc. I've heard that the Craig, etc...diets aren't successful in the long run. I know about 4 people that have tried it and regained all their weight back...unless you can afford to keep buying their food! Can we help? -riza---

Guest guest
Hi , This used to be an issue with me as well. I know where you are coming from. What fruits and veggies do you like best? How do you usually prepare them? How about dairy products? Which are your favorites and how do you prepare them? I have some suggestions, but if I have this information, I can tailor them to better help you. Also, have you thought about posting your journal for the group? We might be able to offer suggestions there as well. |--------+-----------------------> | | " Henry " | | | <henryel@musc| | | .edu> | | | | | | 05/09/2002 | | | 12:30 PM | | | Please | | | respond to | | | wwliterside | | | | |--------+-----------------------> >-----------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: wwliterside | | cc: (bcc: -C /BRE/AGFA/US/BAYER) | | Subject: RE: Re: venting and long| >-----------------------------------------------------------| getting vegetables in and fruits in and dairy products that is my weakness >>> medley.34@... 05/09/02 12:30PM >>> , what are you having concerns with? Guest guest
Mmmm... Cucumbers are my favorite. I make them with FF sour cream and dill; or FF mayo and dill; plain, mixed with grape tomatos, balsamic vinegar and feta cheese; Or plain; or with salt; yummmy! Brocoli I liked steamed, or with a tablespoon of parmesan cheese. I'm no a big tomato fan, but I know some people eat them just like apples. There is so much you can do with the fruit. Do you like to cook or are you a convienence person? Guest guest
One thing I do is take calcium supplements for the dairy requirement. I'm really not a milk drinker - though I do get to count any yogurt or cottage cheese I have because the brands I buy are 25% calcium per serving and anything over 23% we can count as a dairy serving. But, I have two tums every night and that's 100% of our calcium requirement per day anyway. I already love any and all fruits and veggies available so getting those in is easy. My problem is controlling the carb intake... well, controlling all intake period. Losing weight is 90% mental - at least for me it is. With 5 kids and husband that doesn't have an eating problem we have *lots* of food around. Every time I grab for something I have to ask myself the following questions... "is there a better choice" -- "do I really *need* this right now or do I just *want* this right now" -- "am I really hungry or am I needing comfort"... you get the picture. And for me I really need to ask before I take something every time so I don't get myself in trouble. I know I can have whatever I want but do I really need everything I want. This journey for me is learning portion control - and that's not easy. For instance it's really difficult to throw away the food from the kids plates, but I have to get it out of my sight as soon as they're done eating so I don't eat it... it's just a reflex with me!! If you're going to meetings talk with your leader - if your leader won't talk to you then find another meeting/leader that will. If you're not going to meetings then please do post whatever you need here... that's why this group is around, we all need support :-) ~~mary@...
