Sandy,

That is wonderful!!! I am soo happy for you. Keep up the wonderful job you

are doing with this new tool we have. I know how you feel, this has really

been a God send for me also. I doubt that I would still be alive if it weren't

for this surgery. You go girl!

n - Hey, remember a loss is a loss, regardless. Shout it out! I

really believe the weight lost prior to surgery is the hardest, and you

deserve bells and whistles for every little bit you shed!!!!! Yippee for

you!!!!

WTG, and on Christmas eve no less. What a gift to yourself!

Sandi...

Welcome to the century club. Christmas eve I hit 100 lbs from my arrival

date to Fla from CA. Didn't think to post it. I was just soooooo happy to

see the pounds gone that I just celebrated with my family. I guess I just

didn't consider it since it wasn't a loss post op.

Okay, can I jump in??? By the time you guys might meet, I will be on the

losing side too, and I would love to meet Joan, n and Robin too!! I

live in the Bay Area, so it wouldn't be too far for me to go in either

direction.

Everyone on here has helped me stay determined to keep focused on this

surgery that I want so badly, and kept me from being depressed by the wait.

I can't thank you enough.

n, I'd love to meet you. I'm about 2 or 2-1/2 hours south of Modesto,

can't remember....I think it's about 1-1/2 hours to Merced from here. Keep

up the wonderful work! Everyone here inspires me to keep on the right

track. I've been emailing a daughter of a friend who's going to have

surgery on the 20th. Her insurance didn't require much of anything to

qualify, so she doesn't have any idea of what to eat, or what's going to

happen. Luckily she has the same group of doctor's I had, and will be at

the same hospital. It just gets me that more information isn't given out

prior to surgery. I fought my insurance all the way, thought they were

being picky, but have to eat my words now and be thankful I've had a good

education and good support....although knowing a lot about it certainly

doesn't mean that there aren't surprises.

In case you do come to Modesto, here's my email address:

Janice, 3 months seems like an awful long wait. I'd call them and pester

them. If the surgeon's office doesn't have an answer, I'd contact your

insurance. They initially told me it could be as long as 3 months, but I

was going to give them 2 weeks and start calling. They called me 6 days

later to schedule the surgery, so I didn't have to.

Joan, my pcp initially told me it would probably take a year for the

surgery to actually happen. I have a referral from the insurance

to see the surgeon, but I think I still need the aproval for the

surgery. I will call the dr. office next week. Just to make sure

they received all my info. My daughter is getting married in

October and I'd sure like to have lost some of this weight. Janice

Janice, good pcp....that seems like the average wait. I wish mine had been

informed and told me that from the beginning. My insurance did the same

thing, approved the consult appt. with the surgeon, then the surgeon's

office gets the approval for the surgery. A wedding.....how fun! If you've

lost some by then, it's wonderful. I totally understand. For my daughter's

wedding 2 years ago, I felt so self-conscious, but lucked into a long dress

that was incredibly flattering. I was shocked that I didn't hate the

pictures.
