This is the post/article done on the atkins bars, including the glycerin in the carb count this time. It definitely made me drop the habit, and only a rare once in awhile do I pick up ONE praline crunch bar and cut it into eight pieces, and have 2 pieces at a time for a sweet fix.Bars, Bars and Bars !I thought I would do the math on the Low-Carb bars that I happened to have and see what I get. You will probably all be horrified to see it. Of the bars that I had counts for it would appear that the Praline Crunch bar is the only bar that would not give you an exhorbitant amount of carbs (5g) if you include glycerine and company.Dr. Atkins discusses the uses of Glycerine on pg 152-153 of the Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book (DANDR). Atkins Advantage BarsThe bar wrappers contain the following (or a similar) quote: Polydextrose (Litesse), xylitol and glycerine are omitted from the carb count as their impact on bloodsugar/insulin levels is negligible. Almond Brownie 230 total calories made up of: 90 fat calories (10g * 9) 80 protein calories (20g * 4) + 10.4 carbohydrate calories (2.6g * 4) 49.6 calories unaccounted for - making 12.6 additional carbs possible for glycerine Total potential carbs = 15 Chocolate Coconut 250 total calories made up of 121 fat calories (13g * 9) 70 protein calories (18g * 4) 8 carbohydrate calories (2g * 4) 51 calories unaccounted for - making 12.75 additional carbs possible for glycerine Total potential carbs = 14.75 Chocolate Raspberry 210 total calories made up of 108 fat calories (12g * 9) 76 protein calories (19g * 4) 10.4 carbohydrate calories (2.6g * 4) 15.6 calories unaccounted for - making 3.9 additional carbs possible for glycerine Total potential carbs = 6.5 Chocolate Peanut Butter I didn't have the figures but Terry calculated them at 6.5 grams each. Chunky Peanut Butter 240 total calories made up of: 90 fat calories (10g * 9) 88 protein calories (22g * 4) 8 carbohydrate calories (2g * 4) 54 calories unaccounted for - making 13.5 additional carbs possible for glycerine Total potential carbs = 15.5 Praline Crunch 221 total calories made up of 117 fat calories (13g * 9) 84 protein calories (21g * 4) 10.4 carbohydrate calories (2.6g * 4) 9.6 calories unaccounted for - making 2.4 additional carbs possible for glycerine Total potential carbs = 5Biochem Ultimate Low-Carb Bars The bar wrappers contain the following quote: Glycerine is not a carbohydrate but has a caloric value of 4.32 per gram. Honey-Almond 240 total calories made up of 63 fat calories (7g * 9) 100 protein calories (25g * 4) 8 carbohydrate calories (2g * 4) 69 calories unaccounted for - making 17.25 additional carbs possible for glycerine Total potential carbs = 19.25 Cool Cappuchino 230 total calories made up of 54 fat calories (6g * 9) 80 protein calories (20g * 4) 8 carbohydrate calories (2g * 4) 88 calories unaccounted for - making 22 additional carbs possible for glycerine Total potential carbs = 24Hope this helps answer the questions you had. I have some of these in the freezer, I thought last time I figured the choco

rasberry, I came up with over 12 possible carbs, perhaps I am wrong cause

that is not too bad, 6.5 possible carbs. I have quit eating the carb

solustion and atkins choco / coconut cause of this.
