Guest guest
He's in my prayers. Ephimosis (may be spelled wrong) is extremely common in uncircumsized males, and despite the activists that feel circumsision is cruel, it is much easier to have it done at birth. My Dad had to have it done when he was in 7th grade (which I'm sure he'd just LOVE me sharing, LOL). I can't imagine a boy going into puberty having that done. And my kid's Dad had it done late-I think maybe about age one. It's so much easier to get it done at birth. Not to mention that teaching young boys the proper hygeine for an uncircumsized penis is extremely difficult, and those that don't use proper hygeine are setting themselves up for wives or partners with cervical cancer and/or chronic infections. Not to mention also how entirely gross sphegma is--yes there is a word for the gross stuff that gathers between the foreskin and the head of the penis. I've had older patients that I had to bathe who hadn't cleaned there in years--I have a strong stomach, but I have myself gagging in remembrance, LOL. Plus caregivers of uncircumsized elderly males need to remember to return the foreskin to it's correct position after retracting and cleaning under it or it acts like a rubberband and cuts off circulation causing swelling which makes it difficult to return to it's correct position and if not corrected can cause loss of the area. I know I'm predjudiced because of the above info, but I would just never leave a boy uncircumsized. And would hope that every parent to be would consider the complete picture, including the above, before making their own decision about the procedure. Kathy Zaiden a called about Zaiden. He wasn't circumsized when he was born and his foreskin keeps getting tighter and its closing the his little pee pee hole. They've had him to various docs and finally after a scary incident last night with a bubble under his foreskin (it was filled with pee) they took him to the ER. The ER docs got him an appointment with a doc in Ada, a pedeatric urologist today. a called just as we were walking in the house this evening and Zaiden is scheduled for a circumcision on Wed. Its outpaitent and they told them that he'd probally be out before noon. She said she'd call when they're thru and just in case anything went wrong. All the docs around Durant wouldn't touch him since he was over two months old and said he had to see a specialist. They were going to have to go to OKC, but I'm glad they got the appointment in Ada. a said the doc also dilated his pee pee hole with a pair of forceps, and Zaiden didn't cry just kicked his legs. I can't wait to see him Friday! a did say if they ever have anymore boys they will be circumsized at birth! So everyone keep him and his scared Mom in your thoughts and Prayers! Guest guest
LOL--sorry. I grew up in a house where my Mom and Aunt were nurses, and then I became a nurse and my brother became a respiratory therapist and his wife a perfusionist, and my m-i-l is a nurse and my f-i-l a pharmacist, AND the guys all hunt, LOL,so I tend to forget that what is usual talk for the table at our family gatherings grosses some people out. Actually ALOT of people, LOL. Sorry. Kathy RE: Zaiden Okay Kathy your graphic despcription made me loose my appetite. lol Just kidding. But still yuck!
