Guest guest
, I just visited your homepage and I was floored. I was very close to crocodile tears reading about how your mom belittled you! I'll never, never understand how a mother can bring beautiful children into this world and then try to destroy them! I'm incredibly proud of you taking care of yourself. You've done a wonderful job. My mother also messed up big time. I was in denial for a long time before confronting it and, as you, got to spend some hospital time trying to recover. I think somehow, these hard times make us much stronger. Our mothers, our identity, our weight are so interconnected. I am very proud of you for putting out your wonderful web page. I too saw Carnie 's transformation, and that got me started, but didn't do anything until a friend, Robin O., told me about her upcoming surgery. That gave me hope, and I started the long road. My fear in this is to gain weight back. One of my doctors recommended reading her new book, " I'm Still Hungry....finding myself through thick and thin. " I've just started it, but can tell it's going to help a lot. Congratulations on being into the 200's!!!! You've made wonderful progress in 6 months.....and congrats too on going to school. I'm sure it's tough going with a family. Joan LAP RNY 11/18/03 Dr. Higa, Fresno, CA 282pre-op/275surg/239/

I'll be there someday if I can be strong, I know every mile will be worth my while, I would go most anywhere to fell like I belong.
