Guest guest
I remember you said it was scheduled, just couldn't remember exactly when. Kathy Angel We have to have Angel put to sleep. Before we went on vacation she'd had the yeast infection in her ear and we were blaming that for her poor appetite and weight loss. When I picked her up the lady said she wasn't eating well and her ear was bothering her again. We had to lift her into our car to go home. We took her to the vet this AM, still hoping it was all from the ear thing. The vet thought she smelled uremic and did blood work. She's been staggering all day. While we were waiting for the labs the vet said that if it was kidney we might be able to give her IV's and get the kidney's working right again. Then she came in with the bloodwork. Sigh. Her kidneys are completely shut down. BUN and Creatinine off the charts Sodium and cloride low, Phosphates off the charts. She's anemic and not making any more red blood cells. They gave her a liter of fluid under the skin so she could be well enough to spend a day or two with us. Denny was sobbing. He doesn't understand how I could bring her home But I needed a couple of days with her. And I needed to know that her last few days weren't at the kennel. And I could tell by the look on her face that she knows she's dying and wanted to come home for awhile. Weds evening we're having her put down. I'm having her cremated and burying her on our property. This is the last dog I'll ever have. I can't keep up with one, and can't go through this again. She came into our lives at a time we really needed her, and I'm not ready for her to be leaving, but I guess I don't get to say when she goes. I'm falling apart here, it hurts so bad. I know that most of us have critters on this list, and that you'll all understand. Denny took the rest of the day off work, so you know how upset he is. He's plowing the snow, crying and chain smoking. KathyPlease visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com
Guest guest
Mom had hers done, and my m-i-l had hers done and they have been soooo happy with it. My m-i-l waited until she couldn't take care of herself properly (bathing, etc, she needed her hubby's help) because she didn't want to get it done. Now if my son would get his taken care of....he's only 28, but he's afraid that if anything is screwed up he'll lose his livelihood. Kathy Angel We have to have Angel put to sleep.
