Guest guest
BTDT! I'm 54 1/2 LOL! Honey, I've HAD hot flashes. I have not had a period in > 5 years. I thought I was done with hot flashes. Although I have had some more " hot flashes " (not sure they're the real thing) since starting all this with HC, Armour, iodoral, DHEA and supplements. This was NOT my typical hot flash, more like a flame thrower attacking me. I sure hope it never happens again!! B God Bless America! Guest guest
Hmm. After rereading your post, I don't see how it could have been a crash if it started right as you were finished eating! Guest guest
I also had niacin flush once from 25 mg of niacin in my B complex. Was also very panicked. bw Nil Re: What was THAT !? Oh YES!!! I used to get those too (niacin flushes)! Very scary, but totally harmless. I hope that was it...your body will adjust to it...I never have that happen anymore. I was told that it's positively beneficial; apparently it's the basophils unloading excess histamine, and for the rest of the day you'll be less allergic. In my experience, the first day of niacin and I burn ALL over; the second day it's much the same, the third day there's only a bit, and after that there's nothing much. I ask because what you have > just described sounds EXACTLY like what happened to me a few weeks > ago and I totally freaked out. Not really relevant, but how's this for freaking: you know how those multi B-vits make your wee bright yellowy green? Well, it also makes your breastmilk bright yellowy green. You don't notice this when it's going straight into your baby's tummy, but when you are pumping & collecting a bottle of fluorescent green milk.... jeez I freaked. Guest guest
I've been reading about niacin flush and it looks like that's what it was. Scary! Now I need to decide if I want to try a smaller dose (split the capsule), take it at a different time (without any other meds/ supplements) or skip it all together. Some thing I read said to just keep taking it and the flush will stop happening. I am not brave enough to do that. I never want to do that again. It's weird, I have been very careful increasing my HC and Armour because I never want to experience a thyroid dump. And this comes up from nowhere. Ironic. B God Bless America! Guest guest
When it first happened to me, I decided to try taking it again because my boyfriend said it would eventually stop happening. The second time was JUST like the first time. The third time was a little less (but I was getting braver since I wasn't afraid of it anymore since I now knew what it was) Turned out I couldn't stand it and decided to not take it again. I now buy B multis that contain niacinamide which doesn't produce the flush, OR if you really want and need the niacin, you can buy " no flush niacin) which doesn't produce the flush. This is what I did. But I will say again it was close to the scariest thing I had experienced. Mine was very intense like yours.
