Fern, You need to look at how much you are sitting during the day. If you

are in a wheel chair you legs need to be elevated. Also look at your

medications. I know that a medication that I take like Evista (bone density)

can

cause it. Your circulation can cause it also but the best advice I can give

you

is see your doctor right away. I had a swollen ankle last year and it was

cause by a small blood clot. I done mean to alarm you but that needs to be

Hi Fern,

My ankles get swollen if I stand to long or dangle my legs to long like when I'm

ironing, but afterward if I keep them elevated they go back down to normal.
