Guest guest
and those concerned about driving with msa Your dad sounds like my dad. My dad knows better about the driving now though and learned the hard way. Some time before he was dx'ed he and my mom were driving down a busy street and lost control of the car. At the time we thought it was a malfunction of the car and it may still have been. But, I still wonder if it could have been the MSA . It was the scariest thing you ever saw. My daughter and I got a call that there had been an accident. As we drove over to where they were it looked like a war zone. The car had gone through 3 intersections and my dad could not stop it. One was a busy red light and he hit several cars as the car sped through and could not stop. There were emergency vehicles everywhere. I cannot tell you how many cars were hit. When we got to where the car landed, my mom and dad were sitting on lawnchairs in the yard. My parents Crown was in the middle of a huge raised cactus garden. A large saguaro cactus fell between them and that cactus garden saved their lives and stopped the car. My dad piloted the car around a couple of women with a young child. By some miracle no one was killed though there were injuries and property destruction. There were no citations given. Shortly after this he stopped driving. He gave it up himself. He is very independent and very stubborn. But he knew he needed to. Since then we have tried to make sure that we are there to take him anywhere he wants to go. I am sharing this because hopefully someone else may learn from our experience. DON'T DRIVE!! If there is any question don't do it!! Now that my dad is feeling better he wants to use the power tools in the yard. There is no way on earth he can hold up a power tool without danger to himself and all of us!! He is stubborn! Guest guest
, I have four kids and practically live in my car. I was driving again at around 1 1/2 weeks. The docs say that as long as you're not taking pain killers, you can drive. I needed to wait until I could turn my head quickly without getting dizzy. If you're to be wired shut, then you have to be extra careful to make sure that you're properly hydrated. We don't want you blacking out on the road (or anywhere else for that matter.) Guest guest
Hi , Nice to hear from you again! I'm glad you're getting close to surgery and can finally turn that page in this chapter of your life. I didn't drive for weeks and weeks - my husband did, he enjoyed driving my car (it's cleaner than his ....) and I let him chauffeur me everywhere. I don't think you should have a problem after the first week - I think you did say you'll be in hospital a week, right? If you can, take your partner with you to keep you alert in the car and as a second set of eyes.
Guest guest
Ohhhhh. what a nasty little put-down for those of us who have cleanliness-challenged vehicles... Ho-kay. I will get busy. I will abandon all the IMPORTANT thingos, like finding super Christmas presents, in order to render the vehicle super clean... Just remember your snide little asides, Miz . Guest guest
Let's just say that I would sooner sit strapped on the roof, in a raging Canadian blizzard, than sit inside his Messy Car. And I'm referring to my old hand-me-down, which once was clean and spiffy... 'Course I'm just weird - I love a raging blizzard!
