Rita - I feel the same way at 7 months, but I do know that I haven't been

exercising, so I have that little bit of hope. Have you tried changing your

exercise a bit? Water aerobics are great but if your body has become used

to that, you might try something different like the treadmill or regular

aerobics or weight machines. How many protein drinks are you doing a day?

You might try increasing it by one each day. Are you really vigilant with

what you are eating? Are you staying away from carbs and sugar? I've

gotten a little carb crazy over the holidays and I know once I get over this

and get back to eating more protein it should help, too. I do think your

bypass could have been a bit longer, mine is 150 cm. bypassed, but let's not

jump on the revision bandwagon yet. You can try some of these other

suggestions for the next few months. If at your anniversary date you are

still dissatisfied, then maybe you can think about a revision. Take care.

I'd be happy to encourage you along the way.

Dear Rita,

First of all, congratulations on your terrific weight loss! 120

pounds! That's awesome!

About your long plateau -- I'm not quite four months out so I don't

have any advice about how to break your plateau except for adding or

subtracting calories (from food), adding one or more protein shakes to your

diet (Are you drinking protein shakes?) and increasing your exercise plan

15-30 minutes, 3 x a week.

Sometimes (I've read) that we lose inches (on plateaus) and not pounds

because muscle weighs MORE than fat, believe it or not. So.. if you're

exercising, make sure and keep track of your inches/losses, okay...?

Take good care and God bless your WLS journey.

Happy New Year!

Love,
