Guest guest
Allergies tend to be low cortisol. Think of everything you put into your mouth today, not just food. New toothpaste? Christmas cookies/candy? Vitamins? Also shampoos, skin lotions, anything that touched your body. Are you under more stress from the holidays? You're right though, that tightness in your throat should not be ignored and you need to take an antihistamine. There are many different kinds and there should be one that wouldn't give you bad side effects. Guest guest
Low cortisol usually will precipitate allergies. Somethjig people need to knw abotu allergies. You cannto have them to something " new " that you have never used before. You MUST have a prior exposure to the offending substance and usually much exposure to it to develop an allergy to it. But wiht the throat symptoms you are having it is worth looking into. As where ti is starting I would avoid any clothing that has elastic in thsoe areas, and I would also switch t9 a hypoallergenic detergent at least for the time beging untiol you can sort the cortisl out a bit better which may reverse this allergy. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
> Thank you all. What concerns me is that since I NEVER have had an allergic reaction in my life, and I assume most of my life I was low cortisol. Then WHY NOW, when I am on 30 mg HC??? (just raised 2 weeks ago from 25 mcg). Could HIGH CORTISOL cause this? Thanks, Naffy > Low cortisol usually will precipitate allergies. Somethjig people need > to knw abotu allergies. Guest guest
Could HIGH CORTISOL cause this? NO! Most liekly you are hitting times of the day when cortios is more supressed than it should be. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Ok....then maybe I should switch around my dosing schedule? Right now it's like this: 7.5 upon waking 7.5 4 hrs. later 7.5 4 hrs later 7.5 bedtime Should I change this Val? With each HC dose I take Cytomel for a total of 112.5 a day. Also is there any logical explanation for why I would develop an allergy while on a pretty high dose of HC? I was at 25 mg for MONTHS and I never had any problems. Thanks, Naffy > > Could HIGH CORTISOL cause this? > > NO! Guest guest
7.5 upon waking 7.5 4 hrs. later 7.5 4 hrs later 7.5 bedtime\ This explains a lot. It is your rythym that is NOT there. Flat dosing usually does nto owrk. I would go to 10 upon waking 10 four hours later 5 four hours later 5 at bedtime. Try this for a week and see if it stops. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
Stupid stupid me! Have NO IDEA where I got in my head that that dosing schedule would work....I think it may have been because I was afraid to take more HC in the a.m. which would suppress me more in the p.m.??? REad that somewhere? Well...no matter. Will try the new schedule today. Thank you so much Val. In the meantime....antihistamines? ugh. They really make me miserable. Any alternative/natural treatments for skin allergies? Or stress dose for a few days? Thanks, Naffy > > 7.5 upon waking > 7.5 4 hrs. later > 7.5 4 hrs later > 7.5 bedtime\ > > This explains a lot. Guest guest
You can get Gold Bond powder to put on it, or HC cream? But if oyu use the cream use it as part of your dosing NOT on top of it. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/

Guest guest
Quercetin and bromelain(pine apple) are natural antihistamines. You may also add vit C in ascorbate form. If you are using ascorbic acid you may decrease the dosage for a while as it may contribute to histamine release. Also, vegetable juicing at least once a day will help.. bw Nil Re: Starting to Freak Out Here...Val pls. help Stupid stupid me! Guest guest
Yes,it may. I suggest you make a trial of decreasing its dosage until your allergy symptoms get less. bw Nil Re: Starting to Freak Out Here...Val pls. help Nil....I just checked my Vit C and it is Ascorbic Acid and Rose Hips! Guest guest
Have to stick my oar in and caution re Quercetin--it actually GIVES me eczema, and I've talked to one other person who had that happen only she got hives from it. ANY new supplement you take when you are already experiencing an allergic reaction can as easily make the reaction worse as help it. I'm not saying don't try it, but just to start small and slow and observe yourself. In addition to what Nil wrote, I get a lot of help from a vit A and D supplement. 10,000 iu A, and 400 iu D taken twice a day. I told one doctor once that I took this and it helped the eczema, and she freaked and told me vit A was toxic and never to take it. I didn't listen, and kept on, and it kept helping. Vit A toxicity isn't even thought to begin until one takes 50,000 iu a day longterm, so where she got her panic reaction from I have no idea. sol Nil wrote: > Quercetin and bromelain(pine apple) are natural antihistamines. > You may also add vit C in ascorbate form.
