Guest guest
Salut Nanci; This is a great group and you will have a lot of help from them.I expect you live near me.I had a terrible time trying to figure this all out in English but one gets the hang of it after a few months and a good dictionary. Guest guest
Nanci...Buy your niece any of Henry Scammell's books on AP treatment. The Road Back, or The Arthritis Breakthrough. It will be the best gift you could possibly give her. Once I got well on AP, I began buying copies of these books and loaning and giving them out to people who need them or are interested. I believe in that old theory.. " what goes around comes around. " People showed me the way to better health, now it is my duty to pass the favor on. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I joined this list today. My name is Nanci. I am Aunt Nanci to my 22 year old niece, Leigh Rose, diagnosed with JRA at 9 months old. The following is a list of the meds she is currently taking: The meds I am on is: Enbrel injections 30ml twice a week. Methotrexate 20ml injection once a week. Indomyacin 75mg three times a day for the chest pain and inflammation around my heart. Remeron 30mg a night for sleep. Methadone 10mg two times a day per pain. I just got done with cortisone injections a three series. And also prednisone up to 60mg then taper down. So that is my meds. I have alot more too but these are the ones i take everyday. The other ones are more prn or as needed. Now I will have to look over all this again. And I am going to have to tell my mother because she is going to have to pay for it. I would like your help and appreciate your concern. And thank you for taking the time to show me that someone still loves me and thinks about my health as well. About 2 weeks ago, I started doing research to help her. I found someone in Concord, MA, Dr. Malis. I have only emailed him and he has been very nice to email me back. His treatment is antibiotics. My niece is going to read up on him tonight and let me know what she decides. I will also let her know about this support group. I suppose what I am hoping to find from this list is positive feedback from the antibiotic treatment and your thoughts. Sincerely, Nanci

Guest guest
Hi Nanci, You are doing a wonderful thing for your niece. It was good advice to get the Arthritis Breakthrough book because it contains all you need to know to get started on AP, together with a good doctor. It might not always be easy, starting AP after so long on all those other medications but the long term benefits will be amazing. Go for it!! Caroline Stronge. Guest guest
Hi, ! Sally from Little Rock here. Lots of us in this group have benefitted greatly from the AP (antibiotic protocol) and hope your niece will, too! I've been seropositive for RA since '99, but have had trouble with joints since the fall of '92. Saw Marge's reply to you-do get the book and also read some of the wonderfully inspiring stories on rheumatic.org of people getting well. I hate hearing your niece is on all those toxic meds. I remember the days I spent in hellish pain and taking so many meds and still not getting relief. I'm down to MWF 100 mg of Minocycline and 250 mg of Zithromax on W. I do still taking Celebrex and Tylenol at nite and sometimes a muscle relaxer, but I used to max out on everything, w/out relief!! I also take Flax & Fish Oil, 1000 mg. daily, a multi-vitamin, B6 & B12, and 1600 units of Vit E to ward off hot flashes. I use MSM cream on my hands when they hurt and it's wonderful relief. I started back on MSM capsules 2 days ago, in hopes of getting off Celebrex. Best of luck to your niece! She's in our thoughts and prayers!
